General Information
What is a motorized pergola?
What makes your motorized pergolas suitable for the Canadian climate?
Do I need a permit to install a pergola in Canada?
In many Canadian municipalities, a pergola is considered a “non-permanent structure” if it is under a certain size (often 107–108 sq. ft.). However, bylaws vary significantly between provinces like BC, Ontario, and Quebec. We recommend checking with your local building department before purchase.
Can the pergola be used in the winter?
Yes. While the frame is rust-resistant, we recommend keeping the louvers in a slightly open position (approx. 90°) during heavy snowfalls to prevent excessive weight accumulation and ensure the motor remains functional.
Where can I install a motorized pergola?
Our electric pergola systems are ideal for:
Residential patios and decks
Backyard outdoor living spaces
Rooftop terraces
Restaurants and commercial outdoor seating
Poolside areas
They are engineered specifically for the Canadian climate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have any questions?
General Information
What is a motorized pergola?
A motorized pergola is an advanced outdoor structure with an adjustable louvered roof powered by an electric motor. With the touch of a remote or wall switch, you can open or close the louvers to control sunlight, shade, ventilation, and rain protection. It’s a modern solution for patios, decks, and backyards across Canada.
What makes your motorized pergolas suitable for the Canadian climate?
Our pergolas are engineered with high-grade, powder-coated aluminum designed to withstand Canada’s diverse weather—from the humid summers of Ontario to the freezing winters of the Prairies. The motorized louver system allows for year-round versatility.

Product Features
How does the motorized louver system work?
The system is powered by a high-torque, weatherproof internal motor. You can adjust the roof slats via a handheld remote, a smartphone app, or integrated sensors that automatically close the roof when rain is detected.
Is the roof 100% waterproof when closed?
Absolutely. When the louvers are fully closed, they interlock to create a watertight seal. The integrated gutter system then channels rainwater down through the internal posts, keeping your patio dry.
What are the electrical requirements for the motor?
Our motorized units typically require a standard 110V/120V GFC outlet. We recommend a dedicated circuit for the best performance, especially if you plan to add integrated LED lighting or heaters.
What is the wind rating of the aluminum frame?
Our pergolas are tested to withstand wind speeds of up to 100–120 km/h, provided they are properly anchored to a concrete pad or structural deck.
What materials are used in your pergola?
Our pergolas are made from high-grade, powder-coated aluminum. Aluminum pergolas are rust-resistant, low-maintenance, and long-lasting — perfect for Canada’s varying seasons.
Installation & Assembly
Can I install the pergola myself, or do I need a professional?
Our products are designed as “Ready-to-Assemble” kits. If you are a confident DIYer, two people can typically complete the installation in 6–8 hours. However, we recommend hiring a certified electrician for the final motorized hookup.
What type of surface is required for installation?
For maximum stability, the pergola must be mounted on a solid, level surface such as a concrete foundation, reinforced wooden deck, or stone pavers with a concrete base underneath.
Does the kit include all necessary mounting hardware?
Yes, the kit includes heavy-duty expansion bolts for concrete and lag bolts for wood, along with all the specialized tools required for the aluminum frame assembly.
Warranty & Returns
What warranty do you offer in Canada?
We provide:
5-year structural warranty on the aluminum frame
2–5 year warranty on motor and electrical components (depending on model)
Full warranty details are provided at the time of purchase.
What is your return policy?
We accept returns within 30 days of delivery, provided the item is in its original packaging and has not been installed. Please note that due to the size and weight of the pergola, return shipping fees apply.
How are replacement parts handled?
As a local seller, we stock a full range of replacement parts (motors, slats, and hardware) in our Canadian warehouse to ensure quick shipping and minimal downtime for our customers.
What does the warranty cover?
The warranty covers manufacturing defects and material faults under normal use conditions. Damage caused by improper installation, extreme weather events, or misuse is not covered.
