Do I need planning permission for my EG-HUUN pergola?
Whether planning permission is required for your EG-HUUN pergola depends on where you live. In most federal states, the EG-HUUN pergola does not require planning permission, as it is generally regarded as a minor development that does not exceed the permissible limits for spatial allowances. Does the slatted roof of the EG-HUUN pergola provide waterproof protection?
The slats of the louvred roof are arranged to overlap. When they are closed, the louvred roof directs the water into the internal gutters thanks to an integrated gentle slope. From there, the water flows through the columns and is finally drained to the ground. The roof thus provides effective waterproof protection.
What wind and snow loads have been taken into account when dimensioning the EG-HUUN pergola?
The EG-HUUN pergola is tested for wind loads up to a force of 11 on the Beaufort scale (equivalent to approximately 110 km/h), which is equivalent to a hurricane-like storm. If wind forces exceed this limit, we recommend opening the slats of the louvred roof to minimize wind pressure.
In addition, the slatted roof is statically designed for a snow load of up to 60 kg/m², which corresponds to around 75-125 cm of powder snow. With higher snow loads, the slats should remain open so that the snow can slide through.
Is the EG-HUUN pergola available in different dimensions?
The EG-HUUN pergola is only available in the dimensions 3x3m, 3x4m, 4x4m, 3x5m and 4x6m. These fixed standard dimensions allow us to offer first-class quality at an affordable price, as individual production would not be economical. The standard dimensions fit most customer needs and allow multiple pergolas to be combined – for example, two 4x4m pergolas for an area of 8×4 meters. This flexibility makes it possible not to cover the entire patio but to highlight specific areas, making the pergola not only a practical covering but also a stylish design element.
Is it possible to adjust the height of the EG-HUUN pergola as required?
The height of the pillars is not adjusted at the factory. However, you can adjust the height of the pergola yourself by shortening the pillars and then drilling two new holes for the bracket that connects the pillar to the foundation. It is also advisable to add a small recess for the water drainage. This type of customization is popular with many customers. Please note that EG-HUUN accepts no liability for such modifications.
Does a pergola with a louvered roof generate noise when it rains?
The noise made when rain hits the slatted roof of the pergola depends on the intensity of the precipitation. Customers who find conventional slats too loud can switch to double-walled slats, which effectively dampen the sound of the rain.
